Bell, Rogers, and Telus are Canada's three national carriers, each operating their own independent coast-to-coast networks with 5G+ infrastructure. This page compares only their true unlimited data 5G+ plans - plans with genuinely unlimited data allowances rather than capped gigabyte buckets. All three carriers offer similar nationwide coverage and speeds up to 2 Gbps on 5G+, but differ meaningfully on price, included roaming, streaming perks, and rate lock guarantees. Quebec residents have access to lower promotional pricing on most plans at all three carriers.
True unlimited 5G plan cards
The plans below show only confirmed unlimited data 5G+ plans - plans where data is listed as "Unlimited GBs" on 5G. Capped plans (e.g. 100GB, 175GB, 250GB) are excluded regardless of speed. All plans are no-contract postpaid. Quebec pricing is shown separately where it differs.
All three carriers now land at $60/month in Quebec and $85/month nationally for their cheapest unlimited plans at the general customer tier - Bell (Ultra US/France roaming QC / Ultra US/Mexico roaming), Rogers (Popular QC general / Popular), and Telus (Complete Unlimited QC / Complete Unlimited) are all priced identically at those entry points. The only exception is Rogers's 65+ pricing at $55/month in QC and $80/month nationally, which undercuts all three by $5. The differentiation between carriers is now entirely in what is included: Bell adds Crave streaming, Aeroplan points, 83-country roaming, and Perplexity Pro; Rogers adds Caribbean roaming, StreamSaver, Uber One, and the lowest standalone daily roaming rate; Telus adds a 5-Year Rate Price Lock, 68-destination Explore tiers, and the strongest home-bundle discount. All three carriers show significant promotional discounts off regular pricing.
5G and network coverage
Coverage data is based on registered tower locations from the ISED tower registry and Statistics Canada 2021 census boundaries, updated March 2026. All three carriers operate national networks, but Rogers holds a decisive lead on 5G population coverage at 96.7%, compared to Bell at 76.5% and Telus at 76.3%. Telus operates the most towers nationally at 16,007, while Rogers leads on dedicated 5G tower count with 9,080 sites versus Telus's 6,863 and Bell's 3,972.
Rogers leads on both 4G and 5G population reach by a wide margin, covering 98.3% of Canadians on 4G and 96.7% on 5G - numbers that reflect its high density of 5G-capable towers (73.9% of its sites are 5G). Bell and Telus are closely matched nationally on population coverage, with Bell slightly ahead on 5G at 76.5% versus Telus's 76.3%, though Telus holds a meaningful provincial advantage in Alberta (99.8% 5G) and BC (99.6% 5G) where Bell's 5G reaches 0% and 53.4% respectively. Bell leads in Atlantic Canada and Quebec for 5G depth. Rogers has no coverage in NT, NU, or YT, while Bell and Telus both provide coverage in those territories.

Rogers Red credit card holders receive 2x cash back on Rogers purchases on Ultimate plans. eSIM is supported and multi-line and bundle discounts apply.
Telus includes US and Mexico on all its unlimited plans, with 5GB/day roaming data (throttled to 512 Kbps thereafter), and additionally covers Canada, US, Mexico, and France on the QC Complete Unlimited plan. The Explore unlimited plans extend roaming to 68 international destinations. A 5-Year Rate Plan Price Lock is included on all unlimited Complete plans. Quebec customers also get ICI TOU.TV EXTRA included on unlimited plans. Stream+ is available from $10/month for the first 3 months. Existing Telus Home Services customers receive a $15/month bill credit for 24 months. eSIM is supported. Multi-line and bundle discounts apply. Facebook Messenger support is available alongside chat and community forum.
Device financing
All three carriers offer 24-month device financing with no difference in term length. Bell, Rogers, and Telus all allow customers to spread device costs across 24 monthly payments added to the bill. The key differences lie in device selection and trade-in programs, which vary by carrier and promotion at the time of purchase.
Customer support
All three carriers offer chat and self-serve support. Rogers stands out with dedicated Cantonese and Mandarin phone support, a notable differentiator for Canada's Chinese-speaking communities. Bell includes a community forum alongside phone and live chat. Telus offers Facebook Messenger as an additional channel. On customer satisfaction, Bell scores significantly higher at 4.0/5 on Topicks.ca, compared to Telus at 2.0/5 and Rogers at 1.9/5 - a pattern where Bell's support model appears to be landing considerably better with customers than the other two Big Three carriers.

All three carriers are now priced identically at $60/month in Quebec and $85/month nationally for general customers on their cheapest unlimited plans - making inclusions the only real differentiator at the entry tier. Rogers 65+ customers get a $5 edge at $55/month QC and $80/month nationally. Bell wins on breadth of inclusions and customer satisfaction - Crave streaming on every unlimited plan, 83-country roaming on the International Roaming tiers, Aeroplan points up to 10,000, Perplexity Pro, and a leading 4.0/5 customer rating versus Rogers 1.9/5 and Telus 2.0/5. Rogers wins on roaming flexibility and network coverage - Caribbean included on Popular plans, lowest standalone daily roaming at from $3/day, 25-50% off Roam Like Home, and the strongest 5G network at 96.7% population coverage with 9,080 dedicated 5G towers. Telus wins on long-term price certainty with the only 5-Year Rate Plan Price Lock, US/Mexico on all unlimited plans, 68-destination Explore tiers, and a $15/month home-bundle credit for 24 months.
The deciding factors are whether you qualify for Rogers 65+ pricing, which streaming or travel perks match your habits, and whether a locked-in rate matters more than included roaming breadth.

i just joined freedom mobile Canada Day Sale at Best Buy where it cuts the cost of the phone plan by $5/mth for the 2 year payback S26 512gb Own It = $26.58/mth + $45/mth 175gb + 10gb Roam Beyond. Unlimited actually works at Freedom if you can locate your local tower ####### for me its Seneca Tower with 1 single channel = Band 4 bw=15. LTE preferred, no roaming. No hunting for another channel, it aint there. Using Wifi Mobile Hotspot vs Home Internet so I test 5 days of unlimited and used about 15gb extra or 3gb/day. Decent on Chromebook, rock bottom low budget laptop, ytube 360p, ran great. the kicker was freedom makes no money on $1530 Retail price vs net price $400 S26 512gb for 14 months. $1000 / $71.58. Amazing. Best Buy makes $400 ($100 gift card included) + $600 Samsung (rock bottom price for New S26 512gb)… I’m guessing $1000 is the basement price, maybe Freedom pays $1200 without a Sale, No Idea. Same S26 today $51.67/mth advertised price… to own it. Bonkers.
